Leslie Fink Barnes, MD, wins 3rd Prize at the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand Residents and Fellows Conference

The Department of Orthopedics would like to congratulate 5thYear Resident, Leslie Fink Barnes, MD on winning 3rd Prize for her presentation on "Objective Comparison of Exposure for Kaplan Versus the Kocher Approach in the Treatment of Radial Head and Coronoid Fractures" at the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand Residents and Fellows Conference.

 

The presentation was co-authored by Leslie Fink Barnes, MD, Joseph Lombardi, MD, Thomas Gardner, MCE, Robert J, Strauch, MD and Melvin P. Rosenwasser, MD.

Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser performed surgery on New York Yankees first basement Nick Johnson.

New York Yankees first baseman Nick Johnson had surgery Tuesday, May 18, 2010 to remove inflamed tissue from his right wrist. The procedure will keep Johnson from swinging a bat for up to six weeks.

Melvin P. Rosenwasser, M.D., Chief of the Orthopaedic Hand and Trauma Service and Robert E. Carroll Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia  received the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
