Dr. Charles Jobin Published in Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery on LTO Outcomes

June 26, 2018

Columbia Orthopedics Residency Program Director Charles M. Jobin, MD was published in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery for a study he co-authored: “Outcomes of lesser tuberosity osteotomy in revision anatomic shoulder arthroplasty.” The retrospective case series determined what the outcomes were of lesser tuberosity osteotomy (LTO) during revision arthroplasty. The study found that:

“Patients undergoing LTO during revision anatomic shoulder arthroplasty demonstrate successful LTO bony healing, improvement in pain, and improved forward elevation. In select patients not requiring humeral stem revision, LTO is a safe and effective surgical approach to subscapularis management during revision anatomic shoulder arthroplasty.”
