Dr. Joshua Hyman Promoted to Professor
Columbia Orthopedics is proud to announce that Joshua E. Hyman, MD, in recognition of his leadership as a clinician, educator, and researcher in the academic orthopedic community, has been promoted from associate professor to Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
Dr. Hyman currently serves as a Co-Director of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at NewYork-
Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, and as Associate Director of the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center. In addition to being recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts on care for patients with Cerebral Palsy, and other neuromuscular disorders, Dr. Hyman’s practice focuses on a broad variety of pediatric musculoskeletal conditions, including: hip diseases and dysplasia, clubfoot, limb length discrepancy, and complex fracture care.
As a nationally recognized leader in the field, Dr. Hyman is Vice President of the International Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology – United States. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, and the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Orthopaedic Subgroup. He is a prolific scholar with numerous peer-viewed journal articles and book chapters to his name and has received numerous national and international awards and grants. Dr. Hyman is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and is frequently invited to lecture across the country and around the world at major medical society meetings and educational conferences.
