U.S. News & World Report Ranks Columbia Orthopedics Among Nation's Top Orthopedic Programs

NewYork-Presbyterian & Columbia Orthopedics ranked among the top adult and pediatric orthopedic programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report

Columbia Orthopedics and NewYork-Presbyterian has been ranked among the top orthopedics programs in the nation – in both adult and pediatric care – by U.S. News & World Report for 2018-2019. For this year's orthopedic rankings, 1,624 hospitals were considered, with 51 programs selected for national raking. Ratings were based on the analysis of categories such as patient survival, patient experience, volume of high risk patients, nurse staffing, advanced technologies and patient services. Columbia Orthopedics scored high to excellent on most of the rating categories. 

Columbia Orthopedics is a part of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), ranked No. 5  in the nation and No. 1 in New York State for the 19th consecutive year. NYP is one of only 20 U.S. hospitals to be named to the 2019-2020 Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction recognizing hospitals that deliver the highest quality of care across a range of specialties, procedures and conditions. The U.S. News & World Report rankings have become the global authority in hospital rankings. The rankings assist patients, as well as doctors, who are searching for care from providers, specialties, and hospitals. This year's rankings feature an updated methodology in the 12 data-driven specialty rankings, which cover Orthopedics, Gynecology, Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Geriatrics, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Pulmonology and Lung Surgery, Nephrology, and Urology.

The rankings encompass a total of 25 adult specialties, procedures, and conditions. Over 4,500 hospitals were evaluated, with 165 rankings in at least one specialty, and 569 ranking among the Best Regional Hospitals in a state or metro area.
