Overview
Dr. Benjamin D. Roye, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in complex pediatric spinal disorders including scoliosis, kyphosis, and spondylolisthesis. In addition to spinal disorders, he also manages skeletal trauma and complex fractures.
After receiving his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Roye completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. To further his career as a clinician scientist, Dr. Roye also received a master’s degree in Public Health from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Roye maintains an active research portfolio, specifically focusing on conservative management of scoliosis and early onset scoliosis. He is a member of the Pediatric Spine Study Group and the Harms Study Group, two of the most important spinal deformity study groups in the world. Dr. Roye has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and is a recipient of many prestigious grants and awards, including the Arthur H. Huene Memorial Award and the Scoliosis Research Society Young Investigator Award.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Roye is a workout enthusiast and competitive swimmer who most enjoys spending time with his wife, who is a practicing pediatrician, their four children, and two dogs.
